Domaine Les Grands Presbyteres
This Domaine, a former church owned vineyard before the French Revolution, is located on the hillsides of Saint Fiacre sur Maine (12km South East of Nantes) in the Loire Valley. St Fiacre is a community with one of the highest densities of vineyards in France.
Nelly Marzelleau, owner and winemaker, was fascinated with wine and vineyards from the very early age of 10. In 1991, at age 24, she starts running the family estate of Les Grands Presbyteres and since then her particular mix of feminine sensibility and passion for her wines has thrilled visitors and consumers of her Estate and wines.
The bottling process “sur Lie” is a traditional method for the Nantes area wines. The wine is left to settle on its own sediments (Lies de fermentation) during 4 to 5 months before the bottling. Bottling is done between March 1st and Nov. 30th following the harvest. Bottles are then stored in our temperature regulated cellars and put on the market on the 1st Thursday of March following the harvest. |
